Hi guys,
I am wondering what is the minimum strength that a MMA fighter should have.
Is bench press 80 kg enough? 90 kg? 100 kg?
Is 50 kg enough for the training of (front and back) overhead presses (and front and back squats)?
Thanks for your opinion.

If a 100kg bench is impressive is mostly reliant on weight. That's also why there are weightclasses in powerlifting and mma. I'd assume to be advanced in the big three lifts (deadlift bench squat) wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't say that it is absolutely necessary to be a good mma fighter. Look up "strengthlevel strengthstandards big three" to see what advanced means (I can't post urls ).

This depends a lot, but I mean a LOT, on your own weight and height! What weight-class do you expect to fight in?

Thank you for your replies.
I did not think of any particular weight-class. Although we can speak about a guy having values 180 cm height and 85 kg to 90 kg weight.
If such a guy does do the bench press 90 kg one time (and several series of a 5 time repetition with 75 kg barbell) and the overhead press 65 kg one time (and several series of a 5 time repetition with 50 kg barbell), is it enough to do e.g. judo techniques with a sufficient power?
I am wondering ...

I think so, it sounds good. I mean a little more wouldnt hurt but it depends on how you do it too. Considering the weight and height, 100 Kg at least once would be a nice goal. Just my 2 cents.
