KJ Noons eyes MMA return with Strikeforce; Rematch against ‘dumb ass’ Nick Diaz

“I’m for sure getting (an MMA) fight in before the year is out…. I’m in talks with Scott (Coker) at Strikeforce and we’re just talking and just trying to see, and he’s real flexible and he’s willing to work with me…. I’ve been exploring [a rematch against Nick Diaz] with Scott from Strikeforce, to do a catchweight. I’ve never turned down the fight, it was just turning down getting paid three times less money than him. So if that’s something that people want to see, I’m just looking to fight good fights that people want to watch. That’s definitely one of the fights that’s out there for me … I never took anything away from him. I knew he was a good athlete going into it. I just can’t stand the guy personally; I think he’s a dumbass. But fighter-wise, he’s pretty good. I think that’s a great style for me.”
The first and only Elite XC lightweight champion, KJ Noons, talks about his desire to return to mixed martial arts with the Strikeforce promotion before 2009 expires. Of course, a rematch with Nick Diaz — who he defeated via technical knockout (cuts) back in 2007 — is a fight that is currently under consideration. “King Karl” has not competed since a first round technical knockout win over Yves Edwards at Elite XC: “The Return of the King” in June 2008, opting to pursue his true passion, boxing, since that time.
