As expected World Extreme Cagefighting's next event, "WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki," is set with 11 bouts, five of which air as part of the night's Versus-televised main card.
WEC officials today confirmed that the lineup is set.
The event, headlined by former featherweight champ and debuting bantamweight Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki, takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
"WEC has a reputation for putting on the best fights in all of MMA," WEC General Manager Reed Harris stated. "This card is filled with the fastest, most-explosive competitors in our sport, and we expect to give fans another awesome night of action on Nov. 11."
MMAjunkie.com previously reported the 11 bouts, including a recent Joseph Benavidez vs. Wagnney Fabiano main-card fight. Initially, Fabiano was slated to fight former bantamweight champ Brian Bowles, who recently was forced off the card with a foot injury. Fresh off a failed big to take Dominick Cruz's title, Benavidez makes a quick return to the cage in hopes of again earning top-contender status.
Co-headlining the show is a pivotal bout between Josh Grispi and Erik Koch. If victorious, Grispi, who owns a 10-fight win streak (four in the WEC) will find his himself with fellow contender Mark Hominick on the short list of candidates to fight WEC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in early 2011.
