Could Quinton "Rampage" Jackson be the secret weapon to help Michael Bisping get a win over Wanderlei Silva on Saturday night?
The former light heavyweight champion headed to England and then Australia to help Bisping close out his camp for the fight against Silva, and the British fighter thinks Rampage’s insights into a man he fought three times could be invaluable.
"It really says a lot about the guy, he's been busy filming the A-Team movie, and he's just finished that and he's come out here. I really do owe that guy a beer shall we say," Bisping said about Rampage when speaking with MMAWeekly Radio.
After dropping two fights against Silva while fighting in Pride in Japan, Rampage was able to avenge that with a ferocious knockout win over the Brazilian born fighter in 2008. Now, he is helping his friend and teammate with the right advice that he hopes will put him over the top.
"He's given me a lot of tactical insight, helping out with a lot of situation drills to help me with certain circumstances that he thinks that I might be in the fight, and obviously as somebody as experienced as Rampage being in your corner, you can't buy that," Bisping commented. "He's just fantastic to have in your camp."
The insider knowledge that Jackson can give Bisping, may be the perfect push to get the British fighter a better understanding to what dangers Silva brings into the fight, and he says that's something you just can't get anywhere.
"He's fought Wanderlei three times, so nobody knows him or his style of fighting more than Rampage," said Bisping. "Having him around, helping out with the drills, helping me pick out certain things that I need to be working on and things like that, it's been fantastic."
Rampage will also serve as one of Bisping's corner men when the Wolfslair fighter steps in to face Wanderlei Silva in the co-main event of UFC 110.Source: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/tem ... &zoneid=13
