A heavyweight bout between Arkadiusz Wrzosek and current FNC Heavyweight champion Ivan Vitasović is scheduled to headline the event.
In the main event of the XTB KSW 90 gala, there will be a strong collision between Arkadiusz Wrzosek, a former kickboxer, and Ivan Vitasovic, an experienced MMA fighter.
For Arkadiusz Wrzosek, a former, very experienced heavyweight kickboxer, the fight at the gala in Warsaw will be his fourth fight under MMA rules. However, this will be Arek's first fight in which he will face such an experienced mixed martial arts fighter. Previously, Wrzosek competed in the cage with other former kickboxers. In August 2022, at Torwar Warsaw, Arek made his debut in a round cage, colliding with Tomasz Sarara and after a spectacular, brutal fight, he defeated him at the end of the third round. The fight was chosen as the fight of the evening and the players were awarded bonuses. The Warsaw native returned to the round cage in January this year and during the KSW gala in Liberec, he took revenge in an exciting fight against Tomáš Možny, who had once defeated him in kickboxing. This fight was also chosen as the best confrontation of the evening. In the third fight, Arek started to fight Bogdan Stoica and this time he triumphed by submitting his rival on the ground. Now Wrzosek announces that he is ready to face an opponent who is much more experienced in MMA. He is not afraid of his attempts to take the fight to the ground and is preparing for a strong stand-up confrontation.
– It will definitely be a big challenge – says Arkadiusz. – Especially since he recently won against Michał Andryszak, and to win against such a fighter is already someone in the world of MMA. A rival on a wave, a rival after a very big victory, a champion of his home organization. I think he will come here very focused on the fight. We decided that this is the rival I am ready for today. And since my coaches decided that I was good enough in MMA to be able to fight someone like that, I was also more motivated because of it.
Wrzosek comes from striking sports, in which he held the title of amateur world champion in K1, European champion in muay thai and won many Polish championship medals in these sports disciplines. He is a former champion of the Fight Exclusive Night organization and a former competitor of the prestigious Glory brand.
Ivan Vitasović will enter the round cage on a triumphant wave of six wins in a row. The Croatian remains undefeated since 2020. In the last fight, he faced the former contender for the KSW heavyweight title, Michał Andryszak, and defeated him with punches in the third round of the fight. Thus, Ivan defended the championship belt of the Fight Nation Championship. In MMA, Ivan is definitely a more experienced fighter than Arkadiusz Wrzosek. He made his debut in the cage in 2012. To date, he has fought eighteen fights, winning twelve of them. He finished his opponents early eleven times. He won nine times by knockout and twice by submission. Now he is also focusing on a fight that he can win before the final bell. He dreams of sending Wrzosek to the boards. However, he is preparing for a difficult fight. He appreciates his opponent's skills, but notices his shortcomings on the ground.
– He is tall, brave, and has an uncomfortable style. He has great high kicks and calf kicks. Plus he hits great boxing combinations. I would consider his weaknesses to be wrestling and ground fighting. Despite this, I think I can beat him in every level, including standing.
During the gala at Torwar in Warsaw, Arek Wrzosek will be supported by the strong support of his fans, who always come to his fights in large numbers. Ivan will have to deal with competition in enemy territory. How will this confrontation go? We will find out on January 20 during the XTB KSW 90 gala.
