The KSW 73 gala will take place on August 20 in the COS TORWAR hall in Warsaw.
The main event will feature a heavyweight bout between Arkadiusz Wrzosek and Tomasz Sarara. Former Glory kickboxing heavyweight star Arkadiusz Wrzosek (0-0) will make his MMA debut against Tomasz Sarara (1-0) in the main event of KSW 73 this Saturday, August 20, live from Warsaw, Poland.
Arkadiusz Wrzosek joined KSW earlier this year after a successful run in Glory kickboxing which saw his score a headkick KO win over the legendary Badr Hari, a finish which was awarded ‘KO of the Year’ in the promotion for 2021.
The 30-year-old will now transition to MMA after almost a ten year career in kickboxing, one that saw him capture a number of Polish, European, and international titles at both the amateur and professional ranks. To help him prepare for his MMA debut, Wrzosek called upon the help of Alistair Overeem and has been training out of Hemmer’s Gym in the Netherlands.
His opponent for KSW 73 will be fellow kickboxer-turned MMA fighter Tomasz Sarara. The 37-year-old is a near fifty-fight kickboxing veteran and a student of the great Ernesto Hoost. He made his KSW & MMA debut last year with a third round TKO win over Croatia’s Filip Bradaric in a huge come from behind victory.
This fight pits two of the most famous and decorated strikers in Polish history and is surely not to be missed.
In the final straight before KSW 73, Lom-Ali Eskiev had to withdraw from the duel with Daniel Rutkowski due to illness. He was replaced by the experienced Brazilian Reginaldo Vieira (15-6, 11 Sub). Reginaldo Vieira has been fighting in MMA since 2009. He is the winner of the popular program The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, thanks to which he was entered and competed in the UFC organization. Vieira is great on the ground, where most of his rivals end up. He has won by submission eleven times in his career, and his favorite finishing technique is guillotine choke. He finished seven fights in this way.
Adam Soldaev's encounter was also dropped from the combat card for the same reason. New opponent TBA.
In return, fans will see a fight between two light heavyweights: Damian Piwowarczyk (5-1, 3 KO, 1 Sub) and the undefeated Bohdan Gnidko (7-0, 4 KO, 3 Sub).
Damian Piwowarczyk has had three buoys in a round KSW cage. The blockbuster 24-year-old from Białogard defeated Marcin Trzciński and Marc Doussis, but in the last fight he had to recognize the superiority of Bartosz Leśka. Before this defeat, the winner of Heracles in the category "Discovery of the Year" 2021 in the Polish MMA was unbeaten and was on the wave of five wins in a row.
Bohdan Gnidko from Ukraine is undefeated in professional MMA. He has seven wins on the record, all ahead of schedule. So far, Gnidko has four KO's and submitted his opponents three times. Interestingly, he won all fights in the first round of the fight. For Bohdan, the match at KSW will be his first match fought outside of Ukraine.
