In my opinion utorrent 2.2.1 is a safe bet for PC. http://www.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent-2-2-1-2For android utorrent also works well. Just get last version.

I would recommend qbittorrent.
While I am big utorrent fan, the last good version is 2.2.1. and that is from several years back. That means several years without any security issue update. qbittorrent is open source and its regularly being updated.

I'm more of a pictorrent dude myself. Simple, minimalistic UI, downloads, seeds, nothing more nothing less. No ads etc. Qbittorent is a good shout too.

Qbitorrent for me - I had a number of issues ultimately with altter versions of Utorrent so made the switch. Haven't gone back since...
