--- UFC on ESPN 37: Kattar vs. Emmett (also known as UFC Austin) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on June 18, 2022 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, United States. Fight card Main card (ESPN / ESPN+) Featherweight Calvin Kattar vs. Josh Emmett Lightweight Donald Cerrone vs. Joe Lauzon Welterweight Kevin Holland vs. Tim Means Middleweight Joaquin Buckley vs. Albert Duraev Lightweight Damir Ismagulov vs. Guram Kutateladze Middleweight Julian Marquez vs. Gregory Rodrigues Preliminary card (ESPN / ESPN+) Bantamweight Adrian Yanez vs. Tony Kelley Women's Flyweight Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Natália Silva Welterweight Court McGee vs. Jeremiah Wells Featherweight Ricardo Ramos vs. Danny Chavez Women's Strawweight Maria Oliveira vs. Gloria de Paula Bantamweight Eddie Wineland vs. Cody Stamann Middleweight Phil Hawes vs. Deron Winn Middleweight Roman Dolidze vs. Kyle Daukaus Background After Frank Erwin Center hosted all previous UFC visits to the city, the newly built Moody Center will be the venue for this event. A featherweight bout between Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett is expected to headline the event. A middleweight bout between Phil Hawes and Deron Winn is expected to take place at the event. They were previously scheduled to meet at UFC on ESPN: Makhachev vs. Moisés and UFC Fight Night: Dern vs. Rodriguez, but Winn pulled out both times due to injuries. Roman Dolidze and Kyle Daukaus were expected to meet in a middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Rodríguez, but it was cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols related to Dolidze’s camp. They were rebooked for this event. A middleweight bout between Julian Marquez and Wellington Turman was expected to take place at the event. However, Turman withdrew due to an orbital bone injury and was replaced by Gregory Rodrigues. A lightweight bout between Joe Lauzon and former UFC Lightweight Championship challenger Donald Cerrone was rescheduled to this event. They were originally scheduled for UFC on ESPN: Font vs. Vera, but were moved to UFC 274 for unknown reasons. In turn, the bout was scrapped on the day of that event when Cerrone suffered from food poisoning. |

In my humble opinion. Without doubt the best preliminary card I have ever seen, and one of the best UFC events overall quality-wise I have ever seen. I'm deeply impressed that UFC pulled this off right after one of the best events of the year last weekend. The preliminary card this weekend was probably one of the best fight cards I have ever seen. Main or preliminary. And I watched many many. Also, I cant remember watching two UFC weekends on a row and thinking "this is the best event ever" after both events. The level of the fighters and fights, the production, commentating, everything! is so awesome I almost feel like Im living a dream. Thanks Dana you are my hero forever! |
