Thai standout Dechsakda BurkesMartialArts, who was set for a World Lightweight Title fight, will move down to his customary weight class (126 lbs. / 57 kg) and now faces France’s Gebril Chaibi for the crown. Dechsakda’s original opponent, Roberto Oliva, had to withdrawal from the matchup due to pandemic-related travel restrictions. Chaibi is the youngest fighter on the Lion Fight roster and had been eagerly awaiting his first opportunity to fight in North America. The 21-year-old valiantly stepped in on short notice for a shot at the title and a well-established rival. Originally from La Chapelle, Saint-Etienne, France, Chaibi (45-12) began competing at the age of nine and moved to Thailand to develop his career at just 15 years old. Two North American titles will also be on the line. In a showdown for the Women's Super Bantamweight belt, Los Angeles' own Natalie "Kill Face" Morgan will face Selina Flores of San Diego, and in a clash for the Welterweight crown, Mexico's Carlos Guerra will stand across from Jefferson Silva, a native Brazilian who now fights out of San Antonio, Texas. |
