Rizin 28: Tokyo is an upcoming mixed martial arts event scheduled for June 13, 2021 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Fight Card Main Card Lightweight 70 kg Azerbaijan Tofiq Musayev vs. Brazil Roberto de Souza Lightweight Championship Bantamweight 61 kg Japan Shooto Watanabe vs. Japan Kai Asakura Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix 2021 Opening Round Bantamweight 61 kg Japan Shintaro Ishiwatari vs. Japan Naoki Inoue Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix 2021 Opening Round Bantamweight 61 kg Japan Yuki Motoya vs. Japan Ryo Okada Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix 2021 Opening Round Bantamweight 61 kg Japan Hiromasa Ougikubo vs. Japan Takeshi Kasugai Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix 2021 Opening Round Featherweight 66 kg Japan Mikuru Asakura vs. Japan Kleber Koike Erbst Featherweight 66 kg Japan Yutaka Saito vs. Azerbaijan Vugar Keramov Heavyweight 120 kg Japan Tsuyoshi Sudario vs. Japan Shoma Shibisai Catchweight 73 kg Japan Satoshi Yamasu vs. United States Bey Noah Background The event is expected to be headlined by the inaugural Rizin Fighting Federation Lightweight Championship bout between Tofiq Musayev and Roberto de Souza. This event is expected to host the first half of Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix initial round fights. The event was originally scheduled to take place on May 23rd, however due to a State of Emergency being declared between April 25th to May 9th, the event was postponed to June 13th. Due to the ticketing system, the event numbers will stay as they are. This will be the first MMA event in the Tokyo Dome in 18 years and they are hoping to hold at least 50% capacity for the venue, equaling about 25,000 spectators. RISE Welterweight champion BeyNoah was scheduled to make his mixed martial arts debut against Satoshi Yamasu in a 73kg catchweight bout. A heavyweight bout between Tsuyoshi Sudario and Shoma Shibisai was announced for the event. One time RIZIN Featherweight title challenger Mikuru Asakura was scheduled to fight Kleber Koike Erbst. RIZIN Featherweight champion Yutaka Saito was scheduled to fight Vugar Keramov in a non-title bout. |
