--- UFC on ESPN 12: Poirier vs. Hooker is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on June 27, 2020 at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Fight card Main Card (ESPN) Lightweight Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker Welterweight Mike Perry vs. Mickey Gall Middleweight Brendan Allen vs. Kyle Daukaus Heavyweight Gian Villante vs. Maurice Greene Catchweight (150 lbs) Sean Woodson vs. Julian Erosa Preliminary card (ESPN) Lightweight Luis Peña vs. Khama Worthy Heavyweight Philipe Lins vs. Tanner Boser Welterweight Takashi Sato vs. Ramiz Brahimaj Featherweight Jordan Griffin vs. Youssef Zalal Women’s Strawweight Kay Hansen vs. Jinh Yu Frey Background The event was initially scheduled to take place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UFC president Dana White announced on April 9 that starting with UFC 249, all future events were indefinitely postponed. The event would have marked the promotion's fourth visit to Austin, following UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Medeiros in February 2018. On May 21, the UFC announced the cancellation of the event in Austin. A lightweight bout between former interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker has been slated to headline the event. The pairing was previously expected to headline an event on May 16 in San Diego, California. That event was effectively cancelled on April 20, after the California State Athletic Commission extended a moratorium on combat sports events through May 31 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A women's flyweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Ji Yeon Kim was initially scheduled for this event. However, the bout was rescheduled and will now take place at a future event on August 29. Ian Heinisch was expected to face Brendan Allen at the event. However, Heinisch pulled out of the matchup in mid-June citing injury and was replaced by promotional newcomer Kyle Daukaus. A women's flyweight bout between former Invicta FC Flyweight Champion Jennifer Maia and Viviane Araújo was initially scheduled for this event. However, the bout was rescheduled in mid-June after both participants faced travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now take place on August 1 at UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana. A women's bantamweight between Aspen Ladd and former UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship challenger Sara McMann (also 2004 Olympic silver medalist in wrestling) was scheduled for the event. However, Ladd suffered an injury, tearing both her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) in training and was forced to withdraw from the event. It is unclear at the moment if a replacement will be sought by UFC officials. A catchweight (150 lbs) bout between Sean Woodson and Kyle Nelson was scheduled for the event. However, Nelson was pulled form the event due to a visa issue and was replaced by Julian Erosa. A women’s flyweight bout between Miranda Maverick and Mara Romero Borella was scheduled for the event. However, Maverick was forced to pull out due to injury. It is unclear at the moment if a replacement would be sought by UFC officials. Jun 25 - Updated fight card & background |

Thats funny! You actually wrote Welterweight BUM? hahaha I actually Mike Perry's fights, he is all over the place and they are always a huge mess, but they're exciting to watch, as he is either gonna knock someone the fuck out or he's getting knocked the fuck out. Only way it finishes. But, I have been really waiting for this one simply because of Dan Hooker. By far my fave fighter, as I have stated many times before. The man is just made of Iron, and has a crazy Iron will at that. Dustin is no joke though. Gonna be a crazy good fight!!!! |

Takashi Sato vs. Ramiz Brahimaj | "Ramiz Brahimaj" is out. ... Welterweight Takashi Sato vs. Jason WiTT moves to main card ... Instead of 5 + 5, it's 6 Main + 4 Prelims. imho
