W1: HIGH VOLTAGE will feature the main event that fight fans have asked for as CARLOS ‘THE RONIN’ NEWTON makes his much anticipated W1 return against ‘MR. INTERNATIONAL’ SHONIE CARTER for the W1 Welterweight Title.
The legendary Newton made his Warrior-1 debut at W1: INCEPTION and won via TKO against Ottawa’s own Nabil ‘The Thrill’ Khatib. Now he’s back facing another MMA legend, ‘Mr. International’ Shonie Carter. Newton is the first ever Canadian UFC Welterweight Champion and Carter is one of the most electrifying fighters in MMA history.
Their experience levels are unparalleled as between them; they have fought in every major organization and against almost every major competitor. Carter has won his last three fights and wants to add the W1 gold to his collection.
The co-main event will also be a title fight; this time for the W1 Bantamweight Title. Undefeated REMI ‘BAM BAM’ MORVAN from the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts will be facing former TKO Bantamweight Champion ADRIAN WOOLEY. Arguably the two top bantamweights in Canada have been waiting for this fight for a long time and its finally going to happen at W1: HIGH VOLTAGE.
In a number one contenders bout, two undefeated fighters will be putting their unblemished records on the line. Coming off an impressive win against Mustafa Khalil, TOM ‘THE BOMB’ WATERS re-enters the W1 cage against the savvy BJJ expert MIKE ‘HURRICANE’ HONG. This fight is expected to be at a high pace with two highly skilled featherweights.
Also scheduled to appear are Hosier ‘Le Commando’ Bruno, Nabil ‘The Thrill’ Khatib, Mark ‘Boots’ Holst, Mustafa ‘Mufasa’ Khalil, Mitch Gagnon and many other top fighters from the region and across Canada. A full fight card will be released shortly.
