Continuing their pursuit of the best fighters in the world, Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC) today announced the signing of the highly touted prospect Felice Herrig to it’s roster. Herrig joins the XFC on a roll, having won 5 out of her last 6 fights including an impressive first round knockout of Andrea Miller in March. Herrig has a background in kickboxing and was named IKF Woman’s Bantamweight North American Champion in 2005 and 2006. ‘Lil Bulldog’ will make her XFC debut on Dec. 2nd live on HDNet.
“I am really excited about the signing of Felice,” exclaimed XFC President John Prisco. “I noticed her back in 2009 when she first got into the sport. With her kickboxing background I thought she could do very well. Now she has evolved and has become a very well rounded fighter. Not only can she knock you out, she will take you down and submit you too. The XFC is really going to emphasize women’s MMA and I believe Felice is going to be an integral part of our women’s division.”
Not only is Herrig one of the most decorated kickboxers in the sport, she has quickly evolved her game in Chicago at Team Curran with two victories coming by submission. Last April Felice picked up her biggest win of her young career when she defeated Jessica Rakoczy at Bellator 14.
“I’m really looking forward to stepping into the XFC cage in December,” said Herrig. “I know the XFC is building some momentum and has done a good job promoting Women’s MMA in the past. This is a great opportunity and I’m thrilled to be fighting for them and will do my best to give the fans a good show.”
